World-Premier in the Burg: Theatre-Trailer

The Viennese Burgtheater continues to explore new avenues to surprise its audience in the productions of Matthias Hartman. This just happened again, however this time the audience wasn’t surprised by a production itself, but by a world’s first:

Ahead of Matthias Hartmann’s “Was ihr wollt”("Whatever you want"), the Young Burg performed previews of “Romeo aund Juliette” and “The Trojan Horse”. Those trailers were exactly what you know from the movies, except they were performed live on stage. These were short snippets of the acts, “edited” in rapid succession with transposed text and the dramatic narrative voice of Burg actor Juergen Maurer.

It is an exciting new concept, developed by DEMNER, MERLICEK & BERGMANN. The Young Burg, under the direction of Annette Raffalt, brought this idea with a lot of effort and creativity on stage as a for now unique experiment, to life.

“When two so different worlds like Hollywood and Theatre come together, something completely new evolves, something you can’t plan. This experimental aspect was very intriguing to us”, said Matthias Hartmann. “Just like for the Burgtheater, new things are equally exciting to us as an advertising agency. We always aim to push the limits of advertising, and in the course of doing this we have created various approaches that are completely common today.”, said Mariusz Jan Demner about the world premiere.
