… and the Oscar goes to Media Markt! Media Markt celebrates 750 stores designed in ‘Gravity’ blockbuster look.
DEMNER, MERLICEK & BERGMANN create first-time pan-European campaign.
1979 marks the year of the first Media Markt being opened in Munich. 35 years later, there is a grand celebration on the occasion of opening the 750iest store.
And as everyone knows… if Media Markt celebrates, they go all out. To be more specific, this means going into outer space. Because that is where the TV spot for this new campaign starts, which will be – for the first time- shown pan-European.
Adapted from the outer space-spectacle ‘Gravity’, which was highly awarded at this year’s Oscar celebration, two astronauts experience the effects of the 750 stores celebration of Media Markt. This stunning outer space spectacle was created and implemented by DEMNER, MERLICEK & BERGMANN in cooperation with redblue marketing, Munich.

The high-quality look, which is as close to the original as it gets, originated from the German directing duo Alex & Steffen and was produced by the young Berliners DOITY.
The campaign runs in Germany since March and will follow in countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Sweden, Greece and also Austria very soon.
